First question
Is it actually wind damage?
That is where we start, and it is not a formality. It is the single thing that decides whether a claim goes anywhere.
A worn-out roof and a wind-damaged roof can look similar from the driveway and behave nothing alike in a claim file. Insurers know the difference and they look for it. So do we, before anyone talks about filing.
We would rather give you a straight answer than help you spend weeks on a claim that was never going to be paid. And when it genuinely is wind damage, that early certainty is what the whole file gets built on.
On the job that produced the photo at the top of this page, that is exactly how it ran. We confirmed the cause, documented it properly, built the estimate the way an insurer needs to read it — and the carrier paid.
What it looks like
Wind damage rarely looks like a hole in the roof
People expect to see shingles in the yard. Sometimes there are. More often the damage is subtler and worse.
A shingle lifts in a gust, breaks its seal strip, and lays back down. From the ground it looks perfect. It is now a loose flap waiting for the next wind, and every shingle below it has lost its cover. That is what the photo above shows — torn back, fastener line exposed, the course underneath uncovered.
We do not get high winds often here. When we do, this is what we see:
Blown ridge caps
The ridge is the most exposed line on the roof and the caps take the worst of it. They come off in runs rather than singly, and the ridge is exactly where you least want an opening.
Trees and branches
Especially around Sacramento, where the trees are old and large. A branch does not have to come through the roof to cause a claim — dragging across the surface strips granules and breaks seals along its whole path.
Shingles off the roof entirely
The obvious one, and the easiest to document — provided somebody counts and photographs them before they get cleared away.
The part that decides claims
If your shingles are discontinued, this changes
Here is the thing most homeowners have never considered, and it matters more than almost anything else in a wind claim.
Roofing products get discontinued. Colors get retired, profiles get dropped, manufacturers change lines. If the wind damaged a section of a roof whose shingle is no longer made, there is no way to repair it back to the state it was in before.
You cannot buy the missing pieces. A close-enough substitute leaves a visible patch in a different color and texture — and a patchwork roof is not the roof you had.
That is a materially different conversation with a carrier than a simple repair, and it turns on knowing your product, knowing whether it is still available, and being able to document it. Getting that wrong costs homeowners real money.
How we write it
An estimate an insurer can actually read
A number on a page does not get a claim paid. A carrier needs to see what the money is for.
So our estimates for storm damage are broken down line by line — materials, quantities, labor, the specific areas affected and what each one requires. Not a lump sum with a total at the bottom.
That does two things. It lets an adjuster follow the logic without guessing, and it means every element is visible rather than buried. Claims stall on vague paperwork more often than on genuine disagreement.
You get that documentation along with video of everything we found. What you do with it is your call, and it goes to your insurer from you.
Where we stand
We document. You keep control of your claim.
We do not file claims, process them, or negotiate with your carrier. We are not licensed to, and contractors who offer to do it for you are asking you to hand over control of your own policy.
What we do is the roofing part: establish the cause, document the damage properly, and produce an estimate that stands up. Your carrier pays you, and you pay us.
If your roof has been flagged for age or condition rather than storm damage, that is a different situation and we cover it on the insurance inspection page.
Right now
What to do in the first day
Photograph before you clear
If there are shingles or debris in the yard, photograph them where they landed before anyone tidies up. That evidence is gone the moment it goes in a bin.
Stop water getting in
Call us and say water is coming in — that moves you up the schedule. We do emergency temporary repairs to stop the damage while the real repair gets scheduled.
Don’t go up there
A roof with lifted or missing material is not safe to walk, and a wet one is worse. Photograph what you can see from the ground and leave the rest to us.
Note the date and the weather
When it happened matters to a claim. Write down the date and what the weather was doing while it is fresh.

What customers say
More than a thousand Google reviews across four California markets, averaging 4.8 stars. Read them →
“We had three different roofing companies visit… Two visited both the attic and the roof and one just looked at the roof. Eduardo visited the roof and attic and discovered issues that the other two did not… his video was proof of a wider problem.”
“Carlos came out and gave us a detailed on site estimate with clear pricing and explanations… I’m so grateful to have a company that didn’t take the check then not communicate or show up for days.”
“David came by and gave my wife and I such a great price on the roof repair we needed… I was also very impressed with the repair being completed in such a short time, which they did on New Year’s Day!”

Frequently asked questions
Nothing came off my roof. Can there still be damage?
Yes, and this is the most common misunderstanding about wind. A shingle can lift, break its seal and lay back down looking untouched. It is no longer sealed and neither is the course beneath it. That is real damage and it is why an inspection matters more than a look from the driveway.
Will you file the claim for me?
No. We are not licensed to file, process or negotiate claims. We establish the cause, document the damage and give you an itemized estimate. You file with your carrier and you stay in control of it.
What if my shingles aren’t made any more?
Then a straight repair cannot return the roof to the condition it was in, because the material does not exist to do it. That changes the conversation with your insurer, and it is one of the most important things to establish early. We check availability as part of the documentation.
Do you do emergency work?
Yes. Calls are answered around the clock and we do emergency temporary repairs to stop water getting in while the permanent repair is scheduled properly.
A tree branch came down on my roof. What now?
Call and say so. Do not go up to look. We will get out to assess it, stop water getting in if it is, and document what the branch actually did — which is often more than the visible impact point, because branches drag.
Somebody knocked on my door after the storm. Should I use them?
That is your call, but ask them for a California license number, a local address, and how long they have worked here. Storms bring people who are not from your area and will not be here next year. Ours is CSLB #1030917 and our offices are in Fresno, Visalia and Sacramento.
